Screeners
Advanced stock screening tools to discover high-probability trading opportunities using SuperTrading's comprehensive methodology.
The Screeners are SuperTrading's powerful stock discovery tools, designed to identify stocks that meet specific criteria aligned with our SuperTrading Methodology. These advanced filters help you find high-probability trading setups from a universe of thousands of stocks using our comprehensive top-down approach.
Overview
SuperTrading's screeners combine technical analysis, fundamental metrics, and market conditions to identify stocks in optimal "elastic band" states - either stretched from equilibrium (setup for mean reversion) or breaking out from consolidation (momentum opportunities).
Core Screening Philosophy
Market States & Setups
Our screeners categorize stocks into three primary states:
- Equilibrium: Stocks consolidating near key moving averages
- Stretched: Stocks extended beyond normal trading ranges
- Breakout: Stocks emerging from consolidation patterns
Quality Filters
All screeners include quality filters to ensure tradeable opportunities:
- Liquidity: Minimum volume and market cap requirements
- Volatility: Optimal volatility ranges for swing trading
- Fundamentals: Basic financial health metrics
- Technical Health: Chart pattern and trend analysis
SuperTrading Universe Selection Criteria
Our screening process starts with a curated universe of high-quality stocks that meet these specific requirements:
- Market Capitalization: Greater than $500 million
- Stock Price: Above $5 per share
- Daily Dollar Volume: Minimum $20 million in average daily trading volume
- Average Daily Range (ADR): Greater than 3% for adequate volatility
- NASDAQ-100 Inclusion: All NASDAQ-100 stocks are automatically included regardless of other criteria
These filters ensure we focus on liquid, institutional-quality stocks with sufficient volatility for profitable swing trading while avoiding penny stocks and low-volume securities.
